What exclusive use actually means
Plenty of venues use the phrase loosely. At Ashden it means the house is closed to everyone but you and your guests, from the morning until the last song.
The whole manor
The ceremony room, the Georgian dining room and a private dressing room. All of it yours for the day.
The gardens
Every lawn and path, for drinks, photographs, and a quiet five minutes for the two of you.
Nobody else checking in
No other wedding that day, no hotel guests in the corridors, no strangers at the bar.
The dog, too
Ashden is pet-friendly, so whoever counts as family gets an invitation.
Not a hotel
How is this different from a nice hotel?
A good hotel can host a lovely wedding. You’re just sharing it with everyone else staying the night.

Why 100
Why we stop at a hundred
A lot of couples ask whether 100 guests is enough. We think it’s the best number there is.
A hundred guests fit around the tables in one dining room, so nobody is seated in an overflow room or watching the speeches from the back of a ballroom. It’s few enough that you’ll actually talk to everyone, and plenty to fill a dance floor.
If your list runs well past 100, we’re probably not the place, and we’d rather tell you now.

In-house kitchen
Food is a big part of what we do
The food is cooked here, in the house, by our own kitchen. There’s no outside caterer to brief, and no menu chosen by number from a banqueting pack.
You plan the food with the people who’ll cook it: canapés on the lawn, a long dinner in the dining room, something later to keep the dancing going. It’s how your guests will remember being looked after.

From getting ready to the last dance
Elegant doesn’t have to mean stiff. It’s a house, not a hotel, so it feels like a party at someone’s home: done properly, and relaxed enough that the shoes come off before midnight.

Get ready in a private dressing room in the house, with space for your people, a bottle open, and nobody knocking to say they need the room back.

You marry indoors, in the ceremony room, so the English weather can do as it pleases.

Venue hire covers the manor, the gardens, the dining room and the ceremony room, from the ceremony through to the evening party. Food and drink aren't in this figure; we'll plan those with you.

- Venue hire includes 50 guests. Additional day guests are £95 each, up to 100.
